THE DETAILS

Where did all the good music magazines go? And why don't decent bands get any coverage anymore? The creators of Drone Magazine have found themselves asking these two questions on more than one occasion.

We love practically any music that falls under the loose umbrella of psychedelic, shoegaze, drone and 60s revivalist genres. And we're kind of fed up of these sounds being generally bypassed by the mainstream music media. You know what else we're sick of? Boring, staid and structured music criticism. So we're going to try and change that.

Launching in February 2009, Drone Magazine will be a fanzine of sorts. A magazine made by passionate, articulate and sophisticated fans of rock and roll - exactly how it should be. It's our own little attempt at creating a fluid dialogue about the music we love, as well as inserting some originality and passion back into music writing.

Interested in contributing? Writers and artists - please send us a short biography or a sample of your work to editor@dronemagazine.com or send us a message on this page. Pitches are very welcome.

Bands - please don't hesitate to get in touch if you like the Drone idea. Our ultimate aim is one of discovery. We'd love to hear from you and we want to hear your music!

Let's get the dialogue started...
