I know where I'll be heading out this Friday night, and I must admit I'm pretty excited. The Roxanne Parlour will be hosting an evening of spectacular Australian psychedelic sounds from Melbourne-based bands Transnational, The Process, The Last Gypsys as well as post-punk thrashings of The Scare. Want to know the other reason I'm going? The fact that the above-mentioned bands are pretty awesome are just a lucky bonus, as I've heard rumour that Mercury Rev will be gracing the venue with a DJ set afterwards. For us fans of the band refusing to buy a ticket to see them perform with Coldplay, any appearance is better than the painful tease of having them in the country for the first time in 6 years and not actually getting a chance to experience a live show.
